YKU's North Korea foodaid campaign also includes political rallies demanding South Korean and U.S. government to support North Korea.

YKU was one of the key organizations that provided resources and technical support towards the formation of the National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC). NAKASEC was founded in 1995 to project a national voice on major civil rights and immigrant rights issues.
Photo: NAKASEC initiated the "Justice for Immigrants -Washington Post Ad Campaign" to build a national effort against the welfare reform and immigration reform laws, which were eventually passed in 1996.
