Emergency Relief Campaign for Ryongchun Explosion Victims

Young Koreans United of USA, Korean Alliance for Peace and Justice, and World Food Programme are launching an emergency relief campaign for the victims of the massive explosion at Ryongchun station in April 22nd in North Korea. The tragic explosion, fed by oil and chemicals, killed over 160 people and injured at least 1,300.

The current shortage of food and medical supplies in North Korea only increases the humanitarian crisis of the accident. Civil organizations and all major political parties in South Korea have already launched emergency relief campaigns.

YKU of USA has been working for seven years with the UN World Food Programme to aid starving children in North Korea. With this experience YKU of USA hopes to deliver the warm hearts of Korean Americans and other concerned citizens to the disaster victims in North Korea.
